A Great weekend in Belton, TX
Not only did we get to enjoy the beautiful warm weather and sunshine, but we had the opportunity to visit and catch up with our wonderful friends. We also watched a tremendous hog show.
A big THANK YOU to all 3 Associations NSR, CPS and The American Berkshire for putting it all together. THANK YOU to our customers for representing our boars: Raven was named Premier Sire for Spot, Ready or Not for Berkshire, and Rushmore earned Reserve Premier for Hampshire.
To top it all off we were blessed enough to bring 3 Super elite boars back to add to our lineup: Champion Hampshire raised by the Gibson Girls, Champion Hereford raised by the Bottelberghe Family and Reserve Champion Berkshire raised by Chuck & Ben Olsen.

I’m at a loss for words. When I started this showpig thing I had the highest hopes. I thought the banners and wins would come if I just worked hard at it. While that is a huge part of it, it seemed to only go so far. We have worked, learned, prayed, lost money some years, made enough to pay the bills some years, been frustrated, and also had some incredible years doing this. We also still have a long way to go.
Years ago, Kayla’s grandparents showed me pictures of a breed champion sheep and the banner from Houston that they had won, and conveyed that it could be done. That became a goal that I wanted to achieve and something that I have prayed for. Well, we got a banner hung at one of the biggest and I’m so thankful and proud of everyone involved!
